I believe women's bodies are designed to give birth and that birth is a normal, natural, and powerful process. I support the choice to birth with doctor or midwife, at home, birth center, or hospital. I hope to help women and their birth partners prepare intellectually, physically, and emotionally for birth and the major life transition to follow.



My goal is to provide guidance for women and their partners to learn to trust in their bodies and the normal process of birth, to learn tools to work with the intensity of labor, to work to face and overcome fears of childbirth, and to prepare for the transition into parenthood. In addition, my classes provide information on the physiology, choices, and routines of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.



I studied childbirth education through the ALACE Childbirth Education Program (www.alace.org). I teach classes in the Santa Ynez Valley and, occasionally, in Santa Barbara. The full class series consists of six, three-hour classes designed for the third trimester of pregnancy. Please call me with any questions.
